UPDATE: This past #GivingTuesday we reached out to our community to help send our students to see Chineke!, an orchestra that champions change and celebrates diversity in classical music. The Chineke! orchestra is comprised entirely of young Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) musicians. Due to COVID-19 this concert has been canceled, but we want you to know that your support will still impact our students and their studies. We look forward to sending our students to a similar concert in the future and will keep you updated when this opportunity comes up.

While the full impact of this unprecedented time is still unknown, we’ve found ourselves turning to the arts for inspiration during this challenging time. With live-streaming concerts, virtual museum tours, shared resources, and opportunities to virtually meet from home, the creative sector has created a place of compassion and hope. The importance of community can still exist as we collectively tackle the ongoing challenge of COVID-19 while social distancing and following important guidelines. Thank you for being part of our Project PTEP community.

After the madness of Black Friday and Cyber Monday there is #GivingTuesday, a dedicated global day of giving back to our community. Project STEP asks for your help on this day to raise $4,500 so that our students can attend Chineke!, an orchestra that champions change and celebrates diversity in classical music. The Chineke! orchestra is comprised entirely of young Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) musicians from America and the UK and the orchestra's mission is part of a growing movement to change the face of the classical music profession. Sound familiar?

Chineke! will be performing in Worcester this spring and with your generosity STEP students will STEP out to attend. Seeing talented musicians that represent the racial and ethnic diversity of our own students is something we cannot teach within our walls. The impact and optics of this concert is profound for our students. Your gift on #GivingTuesday provides tickets and transportation to the Chineke! concert.

We believe in a beautifully diverse future. Give back on #GivingTuesday.
